Fab fun finds Tara! Love the washboard! Danielle, over at 2 Little Superheroes did a tutorial recently on using coconut oil to refresh old wood… wonder if that would work? You can check it out at http://www.2littlesuperheroes.com/2013/03/refinishing-furniture-with-coconut-oil.html/
I get to go thrifting tomorrow with some girlfriends to celebrate one’s bday. So excited! Grandparents are the best to have around:)

So I read this turning greener with envy at every line, love the sewing kit, adore the picnic basket but madly desire the washboard…and don’t even get me started in the idea if a day shopping without kids. So I’m happy for you but more than a little envious 😛

I’m so glad you had a fun day out alone! Successful too! Love that little purse and the picnic basket. I have a washboard very similar to that. I cleaned it up with some Murphy’s oil soap and then just hit it with some wax and the letters popped right out!

You found some GREAT deals. I vote you take your lovely basket on an actual picnic. That little change purse/sewing purse is ADORABLE. Great finds!

Awesome finds! I am in love with the thrift store near my home. I have to make weekly treks there just to see what I find. The picnic basket has to be my favorite of your finds!

Thank you, Charity! It’s one of my favourites too. If only I could decide if it will stay a picnic basket or not….

Linda @ it all started with paint

I adore that picnic basket! I remember I bought one from Crate & Barrel for a lot more than $5 when I was first married. Silly me. Overspent (cuz I was a successful exec making the bucks back then) and thinking we would actually picnic! I think we used it once. At a Ravinia concert. And I recall it was all too practical either! Oh well …

Linda – I still don’t know what to do with it! I’m afraid that if I keep it a picnic basket, it will meet the same fate as yours – used once, and kind of a pain in the butt the whole time….

      Still – for $5!!
