WOW. What a difference. Of course your beloved spray paint came to the rescue :). The flower boxes look AMAZING. Beautifully done!

Thank you so much, Amy! They really added a bit of the adorable factor to the play house. Of course, now I have to remember to water these guys! 😉

Thank you so much, Kelly! The girls love their little flower boxes, though I wonder how long it will be before they start “gardening” in them!

Oh… I would tell you what I`m planning next, but I’m afraid that I might screw it all up… so I won’t! 🙂

Awww… thanks, Bethany! The Playhouse Project is a slow-as-molasses project, but it’s lots of fun! The girls have a good time mucking around in there, and I’m using it as an excuse to make things fancy! 🙂

Thank you so much, Leona! The weird piece of wood still bothers me, but hopefully I’ll get that sorted in the next couple of weeks. I love the flower boxes too. They’re so homey! 🙂

Ohhhh this is so tender 🙂 I would have killed for a play house like this when I was a child. The flowers are such a cute touch. You deserve Mom of the Year Award. Also… that play house has better curb appeal than my own house. So, can I hire you to plant some flowers for me?

Oh, this playhouse has far better curb appeal that our “real” house does as well! I think it’s easier to work with things-in-miniature! Plus, painting this house took about 3 hours. My big house is vinyl siding. Sigh. Can’t paint that – nor do I want to. 😉

Super cute! I need you to come back here and set something up for Sophie. I found a cute cheap play house at Costco, that Greg said no too because he could make a better one. But I am pretty sure it will end up costing three times as much…. Men!

Thank you so much, Shari! Greg’s still sticking to his guns about building something for the girls!?!? I’m sure that it will end up being spectacular!

But yes… men! It’s hard to change their minds when they’ve formulated a plan! 🙂

Thank you so much, Mel! The girls do love it – though they’re not entirely appreciative of the efforts when they’re smearing mud all over everything. 😉

Love them!! They are so pretty! I’m sure the girls love them too! You should make them water the flowers. I mean, they are attached to their playhouse and all! haha! Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof

I know – I should make them do some of the heavy lifting. Trouble is, when they water – they WATER. As in, the plants start to look for the Ark. It’s THAT much water.

Adorable! I have a huge huge crush on window boxes… had one at our first little house and never since. Always enjoy the laugh out loud I get when reading your writing Tara. Can’t wait for the next project with Mr. Awkward.

Thank you so much, Krista! I’m glad that you enjoy my rambling… I don’t even know what I’m writing half the time – I just put down what I think. I hope that Mr. Awkward realizes his potential. Sometimes I imagine just hacking him off with a saw and calling it a day. 😉

Oh my goodness. So darling. Let me just say that I recently had my first baby and it is a girl…I already told my hubby this is on our projects’ list for later down the road. I just LOVE this.

Not sure we have the skill set to bring it to fruition though…like you mentioned you used a different piece of wood, but I can’t picture how you fixed that problem you had…anyway, maybe when the time comes, we’ll make friends with others who are more talented than we are and bribe them with food and good company to help us out! haha

Jen – if I can do it – you can! We screwed a section of 2X4 horizontally on the vertical railing, so that the window box bracket hung on that instead of our too-wide railing. It was simply because the brackets I had weren’t big enough.

On our newer playhouse – http://www.suburble.com/2015/06/the-playhouse-project-part-deux-using-the-home-right-paint-sprayer-to-save-precious-time.html – you can see that the flower boxes I chose fit easily over the railing, so it’s not a big deal.

And yes – your contingency plan is a great one! When in doubt – bribe your talented friends with food and parties. 🙂
