The finished product is really quite cute, but can we talk about that cat? WHO would want to eat cheese off of a crazy looking smirking orange cat in the first place?

Oh, I know. I think that’s why my mother was like… “You’re not serious, are you?”

And also, do cats eat cheese? Wouldn’t it make more sense if it were a mouse?

      Such a weird little find.

Okay, at the beginning I thought you were a little crazy for that cheese plate, but I totally get it now. It’s super cute.

Yep, I’ve been keeping my spray paint love a well-kept secret!

      I just can’t help myself! 🙂

I’m sure that you would be fabulous at spray-painting, Laurie. It’s just about light even coats… 🙂

Isn’t that always the way? But I’m sure that you will find one… if your eye is tuned to the Great Ugly Cheese Plate search, I’m sure that one will pop up.

And if it does, you’ve gotta let me know! I’m itching to have someone else try this and report back!

Great, great makeover. And you made me imagine Santa filling all the bloggers stockings on his list with metallic spray paint. 😉 I know I’d be happy with that!

Dannyelle – that is a fantastic image. I actually tweeted Rustoleum to see if they have something like that. Because if they do, I need it.

Great work Tara! I am going to fill my (non-homemade) cloche with Christmas ornaments this year. I’m totally with you — cloches are so pretty.

Thank you so much, Meredith! I almost caved and bought a cloche nearly three times this season already. It wasn’t until “Smelly Cat” showed up that I suddenly had a brainstorm!

Do not get me started on how many times I have come across those cheese plate/teak cake covers and every time I go Oh I should take this home from the thrift store and never do. See? This why I should know better.

If you find one of these – buy it! I would love to have a much bigger one too. I’m thinking cake-plate size with a very large wooden candlestick.

Maybe I would paint the base black?

(Pffft… who am I kidding? I’ll probably paint it gold! )

I know. It was a tough call, but I finally decided that the Cheesy Cat had to be sacrificed in the name of spray paint. It was already a timeless piece in its original state! 😉
